Reports in FoundationFootprint™

FoundationFootprint™ has a business intelligence (BI) platform as well as many predefined reports.

You’ll find the most advanced BI features, in the most logical places, all with point and click simplicity without the need for technical jargon. Interactive dashboards let you filter, drill through hierarchies, drill to detail, and analyse all in the browser.

Real-time alerts let you know the moment something critical happens in your business. You can combine your BI with fully-integrated GIS mapping capabilities to visualize your spatial and BI data simultaneously.

The FoundationFootprint™ business intelligence platform connects your data, people, and your organization to help everyone make better business decisions. The software facilitates discussions and makes your BI content incredibly easy to share. Embed your intelligence into wikis and company intranets and extranets for everyone to use and access.

As well as the BI platform, point and click reports are available on the Organisation page, the Inventory Details page and the Reports Centre.

Common Dashboard Functionality

Overview

Most reports in FoundationFootprint™contain common functionality for filtering, sorting, exporting and sharing. Dashboards contain one or more reports. In most cases the whole dashboard can be filtered, exported or shared and so can individual reports within the dashboard. These functions are available where required and are located in the top right of the dashboard and report(s).

Filtering If filtering at the dashboard level is available then the Filter button will be visible in the top right corner of the dashboard.

This filtering may or may not affect all reports within the dashboard. Some reports may have their own filtering. Again this will be obvious by the presence of a Filter button in the top right corner of the report.

After clicking the Filter button enter your filter parameters and click Go and wait a moment while the dashboard and/or report(s) regenerate themselves.
Exporting If exporting at the dashboard level is available then the Export button will be visible in the top right corner of the dashboard. Exporting a dashboard exports ALL reports within the dashboard.

Clicking the button presents the available export options. Usually this includes Excel, PDF, Word and RTF. Click the appropriate format you wish to export to and download will begin automatically.

Most reports will have their own exporting functions as well. Again this will be obvious by the presence of an Export button in the top right corner of the report.

If a report combines a table and a chart (see below) then both the table and chart will be exported if the format is Excel, PDF or word.
Sorting Sorting is only available on reports, and only reports that contain tabular data.

To sort a column in a table click the arrow beside the column name.
Tables and Chart Reports Some reports are a combination of tabular data and a chart that represents that data. If this is the case then a table button appears when the chart is showing and a chart button appears when table is showing.
Series Reports Some reports contain multiple data series. If multiple data series are available then the Series button will appear in the top right of the chart. Clicking the button will display all the series available. Click on the required series and wait a moment for the chart to regenerate.

Sharing Some dashboards and individual reports can be embedded within your own website or intranet. Any embedded dashboard and reports often contain live data (unlike exported items which are just a snapshot at the time they were exported). They also retain most of the features discussed here when embedded somewhere else.

Embedding key dashboards and reports provides a way of sharing progress and up to date information with staff and customers who don't have access to the FoundationFootprint™system directly. Some ideas of reports to embed include:
  • Target and KPI reports
  • Facility resource efficiency scoreboards
  • End of year emissions and resource usage
  • Ad hoc reports and dashboards you have created yourself
